Long Time No See!

Hey!! It's been about a year since I last updated my blog!!

Things have been pretty busy, I've gotten a job and moved into a wonderful apartment in the city, but that doesn't mean I've stopped using UTAU or MMD. I've still been busy with both programs, but just sort of... stopped updating this here blog for whatever reason.

But I'm going to try and keep on top of it from now on. I don't think anyone just follow my blog exclusively anyways, but I'm going to try and keep it up to date with what I'm working on (honestly though, my Tumblr has pretty much the most up-to-date information)

If you haven't already, check out the updated look of my UTAU website! http://sonictheunknown.wix.com/soundofclouds

Sadly, I lost my domain name, but I've been debating getting a membership through Wix because I really want to ignore that annoying bar at the bottom of the page. Anyway, the pages on this blog are out of date, especially when it comes to voicebank, but the website has every released voicebank available for download.

Speaking of UTAU though, I'm excited to say a new one is being added to the family, which will be expanding to 4 UTAUs shortly! (And hopefully, won't be expanding anymore haha) The newcomer's name is Miles Gunner.

Quite cute, right? His first released voicebank will be his core VCV. He won't be getting a core CV voicebank, at least not for now (and not sure if there would be demand for it anyways). His core VCV will be dual-pitched, and here's a demo:

Hopefully I'll remember to update the blog with his release as well, heh heh.

Kids

So I was playing with UTAU earlier and decided to test out a multitude of gender flags with Jaku and Kei's voicebanks. I got some odd results. Though the best ones coming out was a totally shota version of Kei, and I decided to run with it. You can hear that here:

(Just throwing this out here, I posted this about 10 hours ago and it has 98 views, while most things I post rarely get above 30... people like their shotas)

And of course, some art.

I don't have any samples of Jaku's "loli" voice yet, but I will sometime. Anyway, for the shota and loli voices I just added the g-25 flag to either of their banks, and it works on their appends too of course.

Ugh

Oh man. So tired right now. So tired I forgot to post this when I uploaded it the other night, here for some reason, but I remembered everywhere else. -3- So here is a cover of Kei and Kame's World's End Dancehall.

I really wanted them to sing together, because I thought it'd be fun. And I love this song. :D Though with them I think it's funny... because I don't think they'd get along real well.

Basically I always imagine Kei being self-conscious about his softer voice, even though he never shows it, and basically hides it by being egotistical, he figures if he pictures himself as important and popular, other people will start to as well. Of course it doesn't work that way and he feels he is working in vain.

Along comes Kame. Suddenly he has a voice that a lot of people like, and Kei is pretty jealous. But he's also mad at Kame for being a lazyass and he doesn't ever have to work as hard as he does to get people to like him.

Pretty much an undeclared rivalry that Kame isn't even aware of, but Kei's all seething in the background, and he's probably a dick to Kame for that reason.

this is my blog stfu I write what I want.

And I figure out that I never write about my UTAU as characters. So they might seem kind of lifeless. But they have personalities and stuff, and I RP with them sometimes.

idk. I think I went off on a tangent.

Uh, here's the art I guess.

New UTAU Preview

Hey! This kinda came out of the blue. Last weekend I was sort of stuck with not much to do and so I began experimenting with recording. I tried some voice acting and pitching, and before I knew it, I had recorded and oto'd a brand new UTAU. So I've taken some time to design and name him: please say hello to Kame Beach.

As you can see I've gone in a totally different direction than I did with Jaku and Kei, which will also be extremely evident in his voice. But I won't post a sample yet~ My plan is to officially debut him this Friday or Saturday, mostly because I still have to fix a few things and also because I wanted his birthday to be in June. xD

But yeah. :3 Hopefully he'll be well-recieved, and after I debut him, I'll probably release him as well.

Reverse Rainbow

Just one of the rare times I actually draw for a UTAU cover I made. This was me experimenting with different samplers for the first time. Wow I really like fresampler with Jaku. I used bkh01 with Kei, but I'm still experimenting with it. Not sure if I like it better or not yet. There's some things I like and dislike about it.

Also here's just the pic because... well I like it. Nothing super awesome or anything, or experimental, I pretty much just played it safe with this one.

WINE BERRY

Finished a cover for "WINE BERRY." Bleah, should've been working on homework instead of this. I needed a break, darnit.

I used Jakuon Kumone and Hokuro Shiroutone. Hokuro belongs to Mole-chan, see the link to the right reading "MOLEloid." That's her site.

I'm actually happy with how it sounds, which doesn't happen often. The laptop I've usually used UTAU on doesn't work with the program very well. So I recently transferred the program and related files to our better computer, and big surprise, it works almost flawlessly.

I'm also pretty proud of the cover art I made to go with it. This was a game of firsts, really. First time drawing Jakuon in a different outfit. First time drawing Hokuro. First time trying different coloring and shading techniques. xD So it turned out fairly well, considering. Here is a larger version of the art.
