Miles is getting English! (and other updates)

Over the past few weeks I've been working on an English voicebank for Miles. It's using CZ's full reclist and it will have two pitches, pretty much the same as his VCV Japanese voicebank. Doing shouting for all of the English reclist was a PAIN but definitely worth it!

I commissioned ryan-kun on DA to do the oto, and he's done a fantastic job. Miles' English is easiest the best English bank I've made yet. Here is the demo I have so far, but it only uses the lower pitch for the most part:



Other than that, I have future plans to update all of Jaku and Kame's VCV's (Kame is currently being recorded), as well as their English banks. At this point I can't promise any updates for Kei, unfortunately, but we'll see!

Miles Gunner is the newest additions to my UTAU family! He was accidentally conceived two months ago, but I've polished him up since then and now I believe he is ready to be released into the wild.

Long Time No See!

Hey!! It's been about a year since I last updated my blog!!

Things have been pretty busy, I've gotten a job and moved into a wonderful apartment in the city, but that doesn't mean I've stopped using UTAU or MMD. I've still been busy with both programs, but just sort of... stopped updating this here blog for whatever reason.

But I'm going to try and keep on top of it from now on. I don't think anyone just follow my blog exclusively anyways, but I'm going to try and keep it up to date with what I'm working on (honestly though, my Tumblr has pretty much the most up-to-date information)

Sadly, I lost my domain name, but I've been debating getting a membership through Wix because I really want to ignore that annoying bar at the bottom of the page. Anyway, the pages on this blog are out of date, especially when it comes to voicebank, but the website has every released voicebank available for download.

Speaking of UTAU though, I'm excited to say a new one is being added to the family, which will be expanding to 4 UTAUs shortly! (And hopefully, won't be expanding anymore haha) The newcomer's name is Miles Gunner.

Quite cute, right? His first released voicebank will be his core VCV. He won't be getting a core CV voicebank, at least not for now (and not sure if there would be demand for it anyways). His core VCV will be dual-pitched, and here's a demo:

Hopefully I'll remember to update the blog with his release as well, heh heh.

Hahahaa finally releasing these, these banks were only recorded like 2 months ago or something.

As it says, Jaku's bank is dual-pitch. Kei's is only mono-pitch. But they are both fab amirite

So I was playing with UTAU earlier and decided to test out a multitude of gender flags with Jaku and Kei's voicebanks. I got some odd results. Though the best ones coming out was a totally shota version of Kei, and I decided to run with it. You can hear that here:



(Just throwing this out here, I posted this about 10 hours ago and it has 98 views, while most things I post rarely get above 30... people like their shotas)

I don't have any samples of Jaku's "loli" voice yet, but I will sometime. Anyway, for the shota and loli voices I just added the g-25 flag to either of their banks, and it works on their appends too of course.

So, Kei and Jaku are getting soft VCV appends. Kei is pretty much done, for Jaku though I am going to record an upper pitch so it doesn't sound so gross in the higher ranges.





Probably going to be released together when I finished, since they're both nearly done.

Augh I've wanted to do this for a while, I had a vision in my head for this video, and finally I got the time to do it. XD I think this is the best MMD video I made so far. I did what I could with the limited software I have, and it turned out pretty much how I wanted.

Jaku's new VCVs!

Yeah! Jaku's getting a new VCV bank! The old one was very bad and blah. So, I've actually already finished recording and otoing. I'm getting faster at this, this is easily the fastest time I've made a full VCV bank. I recorded everything last night and finished otoing it all this afternoon.

So without further ado, here is a preview:

New website!

Don't let the title fool you there, not much is changing. The blog is staying the same and everything on it and I will continue to update it (when I get the chance, every so often!) but I thought I would announce that I made a more "official" UTAU-based website.

I used Wix to build the website, if you couldn't tell, and it has such a great interface and easy to customize layout. It has pretty much all the information that is here, minus some extra MMD stuff not pertaining to UTAU... well at the moment there is no MMD stuff, as I haven't added it yet and trying to figure out a nice way to integrate it.

Meanwhile, though, I released an "official" preview of Kei's VCVs (why do I keep putting official in quotations? I don't really know)



Love the song, and glad I got the chance to finish a little piece of cover art. When will Kei be released? I don't know. Hopefully after Kame since his VCVs were debuted first.

Oh, but I nice little something about Kei's VCV bank: I'll be including a new model! I hope you look forwards to it, I haven't shown it anywhere yet besides in silhouette.

Kei VCVs!

That's right, Kei's getting another voicebank update! Not that I'm not happy with his Act 3 bank, I really am. But when I asked what bank would like to be seen next, well, 50% of those who answered said a VCV bank for Kei! (2 people responded, so that means 1 wanted to see a VCV bank, the other one English). So that's what I did last weekend was record and oto a VCV bank for Kei.

I'm excited about this because I never thought I could give Kei VCVs. I didn't think I could keep the recordings consistent. But I did it! I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Here's a test I did with it:



Bad mixing aside, I'm really happy.

So, it's pretty much done aside form fine-tuning the otos (I did them in a rush). When will I release it? I don't know, I still need to release Kame's VCV bank!
