ALLLLWAYS

Haha, well here is just a little something-something to test out Kei's new voicebank. There's some changed I need to make, re-record some cruddy samples and fix the oto and the like, but he's coming along all right I think. He has a clearer, stronger voice at least.

What am I doing now?

Well since last post, I got all caught up in holiday stuff. But, I am still working on a few projects.

I started a new model of Kei, my male UTAU. Every time I have a model of him for MMD I am unhappy with it.... but so far this new is coming out nicely. I might actually be satisfied with it. -3- We'll see.

Haha, I feel like the las model I made of him from scratch I didn't even know what I was doing. xD It was terrible, seriously.

Speaking of Kei getting new stuff I re-recorded his voice bank. I know, he's getting so much attention. Don't worry Jakuon, you'll get new stuff soon too, promise! I'm pretty happy with his new voicebank. It's almost done, still just fiddling with the oto. I might even release it because it's turning out well, but uh... I guess it doesn't matter. xD

Reaver Outfit, Download

Well I'm all finished with Reaver's outfit for MMD!

He's all done and rigged, and physics are added too.

You can download the outfit here: http://www.mediafire.com/?4roorc747qojhlo

Feel free to edit it and add it, or parts of it, to any of your models. The full guidelines and some other information are in the manual document included in the RAR file. It even comes with the cane and gun as separate accessories!

I even made my own little model edit here, which gives a nice preview of how it looks too!

Now onto my next project... not sure what I'm going to do next. >>

Reavery outfit - textures

Yeah I'm spamming this guy! But I really love how this outfit is turning out. I downloaded the PowerUnwrap Plug-ins for Metasequoia so now I'm a UV unwrapping MACHINE. And that makes for better textures. 8D

I am really happy with how this is turning out. The white parts are parts I'll be adding gold.sph and metal.sph to in PMD editor. So yeah they look a little bland at the moment...

Well onto rigging this bad boy.

Here's a preview shot of him in MMD... not rigged yet obviously but this is how it's gonna look!

Outfit Model fin

Well I finished the modeling part of Reaver's outfit!

The butt of his gun does clip through the coattail a bit, but I'm not -too- concerned. The coattails will have physics on them so it'll be less obvious. Plus I'll add some sliders which will remove the gun and the holster separately.

So onto UV unwrapping and texturing. I finally installed some plug-ins for unwrapping so hopefully that makes everything more successful...

For anyone wondering, yes I do plan on distributing this outfit once I finish it!

Reaver outfit WIP

Well, chugging along on my little side project. It looks a lot better now, maybe because it's more complete?

Still going to model the hat/goggles, gun, cane, and holster, and then I can get to unwrapping and texturing... hopefully I can learn to unwrap better because I really think some nice textures on this will kick it up a notch.

Next project

Well, nearly done with fall semester! Tomorrow I'll be turning the rest of my work in. So I technically get a day off early! Whoo!

So I've been thinking of what modeling projects to do over the break. One I want to do is some Bomberman models, specifically from Bomberman Jetters because I really enjoyed that show when I was younger. In fact I think I'll rewatch it.

But I just finished playing through Fable 3. A pretty good game when not compared to the first one... but that isn't what this is about. What his is about is I'm totally crushing on Reaver right now. This guy is a classy narcissistic asshole which means... I like him? I guess? Why do I like these kinds of people in games or movies or shows when in real life I would hate their guts? Maybe because I don't actually have to interact with them?

In any case, I thought it'd be a fun little tribute to make his outfit in Metasequoia. I'll probably borrow a face from elsewhere since I really just want to model the outfit! I mean, come on, it's really spiffy.

The outfit won't be exact... for obvious reasons. Rather than matching his exact body type and proportions I thought I'd just make an outfit for models that might be more cosplay-ish. So really it's just a dress up kind of thing. See if you're like me and you still enjoy model frankensteining... well, there you go. I want to put more effort into unwrapping and texturing for this one, so I'd better get a hang of UVs in Metasequoia.

I have a start on the jacket so far. It's lacking a lot of details but I'll be able to put more work into it during this break. I'm not expecting this little project to take the entire vacation.

Not sure yet if this'll be high poly or if I'll keep it low poly. I think I'll stick with low poly and see how that turns out. Still trying to get his feathery collar thing to look right, too...

Colorful x Melody

Yup, haven't done much with UTAU lately. But my girlfriend's been working on her own UTAU, and she finished up the other day. Her new UTAU is named Hasuko Fujiwara. So to try her out I had her sing a duet with my own, Jakuon. It turned out pretty darn cute. Hasuko's voice samples are a little quality because of her mic, but I'm sure they'll be improved one day. :P

Also, first time adding motion blur to an MMD video with After Effects. Pretty nice, I think. :3

Kirby Models release (for realz now)

So now the gijinka models are officially released. Password's been lifted, all that good stuff.

Remember, if you didn't download them yet, you can at:

Ha. Well now that it's done, I guess I can focus on getting to the end of the semester now. So close to being done... and then I don't know what I'll do.

Kaito Moves Like Jagger

Yeah, I don't make motion data a lot. I'm not very good at animating, but I'm slowly getting the hang of it, I think. Anyways, I made new motion data to try out the program "MikuMikuMoving." It's a better animation tool than MikuMikuDance, in my opinion.

This video was rendered in MMD. But the motion data was made in MMM, and exported to use.

The motion data you can download! But be warned, the motion file is nearly 10 MB in size! Not sure why. Maybe all the keyframes, a lot of it is one ones. But, it's just over a minute long. So I'm not sure.

Gijinka Kirby Models release!

Well I've worked out all the kinks I can! So I'm releasing the gijinka Kirby models I've been working on for the past few months. Officially I will release them this weekend. But for the people who check my blog, well, you can have the download right now! Pretty cool right? Right? Oh who reads this anyways? But here is the link on the off-chance you do.

http://www.mediafire.com/?3a74sfd89vvt2ll

The password is: facebreaker

The file is password protected for now. The password will be removed this weekend when I release them on DA, Youtube, etc. So please don't spread the password, just link back here if people want it.

The pack includes

Kirby (+mic)
Waddle Dee
Ribbon
King Dedede (+hammer)
Adeline

Enjoy!

I hate skirt physics

Well, adding physics of any kind is pretty annoying. But the worst kind is physics you don't know how to fix.. everything's lined up, the constraints are correct, and yet things still get messed up. Again it's mostly a clipping issue... her legs consistently go through her skirt. =/

I'll most likely try and go back to fix it but I really don't know what else I can do. Thickening the physics boxes works when DDD had more prevalent clipping issues, but I tried that with the skirt and it just made it wig out more. Bleeeh... physics.

But here's the state she's in right now.

WIP, Adeliene

Made very good progress on Adeliene tonight. She now has an entire body, and hair, and ready to be rigged in PMDe!

This is actually my first time modeling anything with... hehe... breasts. I'm pretty happy with how she turned out.

Meanwhile, another video by yours truly. Experimenting with shader effects this time, and I got something really nice out of it, I think. Hope you enjoy.

New WIP, Adeliene

That's right, modeled Kirby, Dee, Ribbon, Dedede... seems right to put Adeliene in the mix too, right? Also excuse me if I continuously butcher her name... I seem to spell it differently all the time.

So here are her orthographic drawings... like most of them I end up drawing them during lectures. So, they're usually imperfect, but usable. I started modeling her early today, and so far, she has the head done. Minus eyebrows, but those are really easy to put on there. Head is the hardest part for me, so with that done, it's usually pretty quick from that point... excluding the hair. Hair and face are really hard because it's so easy to get them to look wrong. =/

Anyways, the face.

I think it's one of the better faces I've made... still needs some tweaking of course, but I'm glad I've gotten to this point.

Will work on her more this weekend, with any luck, she'll be ready to rig tomorrow or Sunday... or lacking the time, next weekend, which I'll have extra time on since it is Thanksgiving break. :D

I've been thinking what I'll do next. Once Adeliene nears a state of completion, I think the next model to work on is Waddle Doo. I would like to do one more gijinka Kirby model, but I'm not sure who else. I don't really want to make Meta Knight but he seems like the popular and obvious choice.

King Dedede, finished?

Well there is a lot that needs fixing, but I think I'm calling it done with Dedede for now. He was both fun and a very big pain to work on... >> I'll probably come back to him later if I plan to release him, but I'll move on now. I think I might make Adeline next, and Waddle Doo after her. That's exciting, right?

And of course, the celebratory video. This one turned out pretty well!

Dedede got quite a nice response. So I'm very happy, and I'm glad people like him.

Romeo and Cinderella

Well here I did something I didn't do everyday, I actually just made a Vocaloid video. It mostly ended up this way because I was making a camera motion for "Romeo and Cinderella" to fit the full version of the song, and one model. Well once I finished the motion I decided the model I was originally going to use didn't match anymore, but I still had this new camera motion. So I made a video to showcase and distribute it.

The camera motion can be found here: http://www.mediafire.com/?onn9jt7zy77eulj

Feel free to use it. This new download will be going up on the "MMD" page as well. Enjoy.

Happy physics time

Well made some progress for Dedede... so far he's easily been the most time-intensive model I've made. It's all those darn physics. I can't get his coat to look right. Here's a quick test, for progress sake.

There is physics in his jacket, as well as the sleeves, and his hair. There is a lot of clipping issues that I'm hoping to resolve. =/

And currently he has no expressions because I can't get the PMD exporter for Metasequoia to work still! Ugh! Dedede why are you being such a pain in the ass!!

King Dedede, gijinka model!

I started a model of my human King Dedede the other day. The model itself is now finished.

Haha, the orthos aren't very pretty. Obviously I had to make the jacket transparent to actually see what I needed to model beneath it... :P

His belt and jacket are both textured objects. I don't like texturing things much in Metasequoia, because the UV unwrap process isn't very intuitive, in my opinion.

So I tried making his expressions in Keynote. Working with expressions in Keynote is why easier in PMDe, I'll say that much. But the problem came when I was trying to export the model as a PMD. It simply does not work. I've installed two different PMD export plug-ins but I can never get it to work. =/

So I don't know when this model will be completely finished. Not only are the expressions not playing nice, but I am not looking forwards to rigging the jacket. OTL

"PONPONPON"

Well I finished up Dee, adding physics and editing some of the rigging. Well sadly enough there are more things I keep discovering I need to fix, and the same goes for Ribbon and Kirby. xD But in the meantime I put out a video with all three of them, and I really like it. It's very cute, very shiny.

Everything came together pretty well. I used quite a few effects to get it to look like this.

ToneMap
Diffusion
DOF
Kirakira

Most of the effects above, if not all can be found at the Beamman site.
http://www43.atwiki.jp/beamman/

I also made a cute little collage for the models. Some nice little images to showcase them.

Modeling "Waddle Dee"

Well you may or may not be aware that I've been making some original models in Metasequoia. I made Kei once but I didn't like that one. So for now I've been practicing on some other characters, which are human Kirby conterparts (or gijinka, I think the common term for it is). Anyway, for the past few weeks I've been working on a human Waddle Dee model in Metasqeuoia.

Well I finished the modeling and rigging in the last few days actually. :3 He has expressions but they need a lot of work, there's a lot of clipping going on that I wasn't aware of earlier... anyway, here are some views of the model in Metasequoia. I am really pleased how it turned out, he's really quite cute. :D

I rigged and added expressions in PMDe. I know there's a way to do it in Metasequoia using Keynote, which I have downloaded and installed, but I'm rather clueless on how to use it. xD

Anyway, here's a rendering in MMD.

He also has custom toon files which make him WAY better. I'm always surprised at what a difference they make. So here is his preview video as well. There are no physics yet, I was only going to add some to his hair.

Other Kirby models I have done are Kirby himself, and Ribbon (the fairy character from Kirby and the Crystal Shards, for N64). I'm debating releasing them. If interest is shown, I probably will. :3

WINE BERRY

Finished a cover for "WINE BERRY." Bleah, should've been working on homework instead of this. I needed a break, darnit.

I used Jakuon Kumone and Hokuro Shiroutone. Hokuro belongs to Mole-chan, see the link to the right reading "MOLEloid." That's her site.

I'm actually happy with how it sounds, which doesn't happen often. The laptop I've usually used UTAU on doesn't work with the program very well. So I recently transferred the program and related files to our better computer, and big surprise, it works almost flawlessly.

I'm also pretty proud of the cover art I made to go with it. This was a game of firsts, really. First time drawing Jakuon in a different outfit. First time drawing Hokuro. First time trying different coloring and shading techniques. xD So it turned out fairly well, considering. Here is a larger version of the art.

The Ceremonious First Post

Well here we are, I decided to create a new blog. This is sort of a home I want to add my UTAU and MMD stuff to. Not that I have a lot, but I think it's nice to keep things organized like this.

So, what should this first post entail? First of all, thank you for visiting. If you are reading this, that must mean you're a visitor. This is very new so I'm still trying to make the site look pretty and such. As of now I have updated the MMD and UST page. the MMD page is where appropriately, I'll add MMD things for download. Such as models, motions, camera motions, maybe even stages if I decide to make some. USTs should be self-explanatory as well. That where I put USTs that I make for download.

So if there is something available for download, feel free to use it! Credit is nice but not necessary. I hope you can find something you like here, and I will be adding more whenever I make something.
